Shigaraki Uzukumaru (Vessel)
A Shigaraki Uzukumaru by Q Tani, crafted in an anagama wood‑fired kiln using lignite Kibushi clay. Featuring a distinctive double‑layered structure and natural kiln fissures that celebrate the beauty of the firing process. The name Uzukumaru comes from the Japanese word for "crouching," inspired by the vessel's humble, rounded form that resembles a person curled up or squatting.
Shigaraki Uzukumaru embodies the spirit of wabi‑sabi an appreciation of impermanence, imperfection, and the beauty of natural materials. A timeless ceramic piece for floral arrangements or interior display.
