Shigaraki Tea Bowl

HK$13,000

In this tea bowl by Q Tani, the rich character of Shigaraki clay is brought to life through a natural gradient that fades from a light ochre to a deep, rusty orange towards the base. The bowl's unglazed, high-fired surface reveals subtle textures and iron spots, creating a sense of depth and grounding. Tani’s skillful use of anagama firing allows for this nuanced color development, evoking the timeless quality of Ko-Shigaraki pottery. This piece is a testament to Tani's ability to capture the spirit of ancient Shigaraki ware while instilling it with a contemporary, spiritual resonance.
