Lives in Bizen, Okayama Prefecture. With his father also a Bizen ceramic artist, he aspired to be a ceramic artist from an early age. At university, he majored in sculpture. With the sense of creating “objets d’art that can be used,” he pursues his own unique forms in a wood-fired kiln with various colors and techniques of expression unique to Bizen ware, an unglazed yakishime style.
